Orlando Sa has endured a frustrating spell on the sidelines in recent months due to injury but having returned to action as a second half substitute against Chelsea on Easter Monday, the 23-year-old striker is now hoping for further game time before the end of the season.

“It was a really good game on Monday night against Chelsea and it was great to play again after a few months out with a hamstring injury,” Sa told fulhamfc.com.

“Now I want to train hard to get stronger and earn more minutes on the pitch before the end of the season.

“It’s been a difficult time for me with the injury but I want to help the Team to get as many points and wins as possible over the next few weeks.”

After joining FFC on a free transfer last summer following a spell at Portuguese side Porto, Sa made his mark with a stunning strike against Norwich at Carrow Road on New Year’s Eve as Martin Jol’s team drew 1-1 with the Canaries.

Sa’s progress has been held up by injury but having now returned to fitness the striker is desperate to pick up where he left off at the tail end of 2011.

“The football is very different in England to what I experienced in Portugal,” Sa explained. “In England you have to be much stronger and train much harder.

“The hamstring injury was frustrating for me but I feel good again now. It’s very important to train really hard and it takes time to adapt but now I feel physically and psychologically strong now I am fit again.”

Fingers crossed for Sa, Fulham really needs some productive forwards.
