New squad for USMNT

Why are these two friendlies "important?"

It appears as if the rehabilitation of DMB is complete.

I don't really know the importance factor except for Der Kommissar still feeling out his lineup. I'd have thought Klestjan to be called up, given his form and base of operations. Good for DMB and what does Gomez have to do to get another sniff (also Burnbury for that matter)?

I hope Dempsey doesn't play the entire 180 pointless minutes.

I'd like to see both Dempsey and Donovan play the 2nd half of each. Would also like to see Hamid get some minutes.

Yeah I wish Klestjan was called. I dont get it with Beckerman and all the defensive mids he called. Der Kommissar is missing the uboat on Gomez. Come WC qualifying we could use a super sub finisher like him. I dont care what your master plan is sometimes you need a guy who can score a goal when you're in a hostile Latin American environment. Plus Hercules is as decent as they come.

Bunbury and Agudelo, I expect, will be in the U23 camp instead of these friendlies. Bunbury came from U of Akron if you recall. He's Porter's man.

Ah, the Olympic thing as pointed out by a wiser mind. I concur that Gomez brings something to the table that the US has recently shown to be lacking - a scorer, poacher or whatever be he titled.

Isn't there a good chance a few MLS folks may still be in the playoffs during these matched?

Der Leater said Donovan will be released after France and still have a week to prepare with the Galaxy. And who cares about Beckerman anyway.

Donovan has wisely withdrawn from the friendlies to focus on the MLS Cup Final.

Has to work on some more penalty kicks since he's used up his arsenal this postseason.

Some video of the training in France. I think they need some goal line technology...check 3:22. Nice one Timmy!

Interesting article in L.A. Times on Galaxy D Omar Gonzalez. Makes you wonder why he hasn't been called up more often.
